Iluminosa (“Nosa”) is a beautiful light fawn daughter of the incomparable Mishelee from the last Peruvian import. She is also the daughter of one of the only Rufino sons, Forrestlinn, who has sired numerous award winning cria. Mishelee is the mother and grandmother of champions, with a string of highly successful offspring to her credit. She is the granddam of the well-known Arizona Sage, who triumphed in the show ring, and her daughter Princess is one of Linn Alpaca’s foundation animals, who has produced a string of champions in her own right.

Nosa exhibits the incredible fleece characteristics her mother passes on without fail – density, curlique locks and luster. Her regrowth is excellent, and she is a pleasure to be around. She enjoys playing auntie to the cria, and is not above pronking around like one at times. Her conformation is solid, with true suri phenotype, good solid bone and upright posture. She is truly a beauty. Iluminosa was shown only twice prior to being bred, placing both times.

Nosa delivered her first cria prematurely in February, 2009, and the cria unfortunately did not survive. She has been bred to Allegheny Peruvian King Coal for a summer 2010 cria.

Regina is an older, full Peruvian, full Alianza girl who has proven herself to be an excellent mother. Her 2007 cria, Isilmë, hit the ground unassisted at 22 pounds with an IgG of over 3000, and was over 100 pounds before she was 6 months old. Regina is attentive to her cria and very protective. You would never know that Regina had lost a quarter to chronic, undiagnosed mastitis before we owned her. She more than makes up for it on the other three!

Regina is registered as a medium fawn and is a Peruvian Aureo daughter. She tends to throw her color or lighter, and her cria typically have good coverage, luster and locking. Conformationally, Regina is showing her age a little bit, but she is a proven producer of show quality breeding stock. She is healthy and holds her weight even while nursing.

We held her open from her fall, 2007 breeding to try a summer breeding and she proved reluctant to breed off the farm; by the time we brought her back, it was too late to try again for a 2009 cria.

However, Regina has now been bred to our WRSR Peruvian Payday (full brother to WRSR Accoyo Razor and WRSR Navajo Gold) and is confirmed pregnant by ultrasound. This was Payday’s first ever breeding, and Gina took on that first try. We can’t wait to see what Payday can produce, and we know Gina will deliver another healthy cria next spring.

Fiber Stats:

We purchased Marbella at the Great Lakes Ranch Classic II auction in 2009, and we are truly excited to add one of the last Accoyo Ramilo daughters to our herd. We trust that Marbella’s genetics will help move our breeding program forward, and we anticipate a very special cria from her pairing with Accoyo Paragon, a Jackpot son.

Marbella’s sire, Accoyo Ramilo, needs no introduction to suri breeders, having garnered 25 first place Get of Sire awards, a feat unmatched by any other suri herdsire. Her dam, Itala, is the mother of Humming Hill’s multiple award winning brown herdsire Capucci, and we hope that Itala has passed the possibility for color to Marbella as well. Both her sire and dam are deceased, making Marbella’s genetics that much more valuable.

Marbella has a curious and shy demeanor, but is growing to trust us.  As she does, it is becoming a pleasure to work with her.  She has come a long way from the wild and frightened animal we started with.

BESAME Sirius’ Tingilindë, ARI 31476805

Show Record:
3rd place, Full Fleece Fawn Yearling, 2006 Alpacamania (class of 5)

Fiber Stats:

Empressa has been bred to our new herdsire, 3/4 Accoyo WRSR Peruvian Payday, and is confirmed pregnant by ultrasound for a June, 2010 cria. We’re looking forward to seeing his density combined with her color.  If her previous two cria are any indication, it should be a knockout.

Empressa is a vicuña patterned, medium fawn, 1/2 Accoyo beauty sire by the now deceased Ppperuvian Sedoso, an influential herdsire on the West Coast.  She also carries some of the best Bolivian bloodlines, including that of Acero Marka’s Harry Brown. She has good conformation, with a strong suri head. Empressa has proven herself to be an attentive mother with her first two cria, and she still has the energy and joie de vivre of a cria herself. She and her cria are always investigating the barnyard. If they can find something that rattles when they mouth it, they are happy alpacas.

We purchased Empressed at auction in 2007, and she was in poor shape from being transported across the country.  She delivered her first cria early that fall, but we were impressed that she held the pregnancy at all.  We made the decision to hold her open until the spring before rebreeding her; thus, there is no gap in her breeding history. She has taken on the first breeding both times we have owned her, and had a textbook delivery this spring, a beautiful Sirius Black daughter.

Her 2009 cria, Lindy, is a gorgeous light fawn spit fire who was up and running in minutes. Her fiber twists to the skin and she has a very typey look. Her luster is outstanding. She lacks a little density, but that should be easy to add to her future cria with careful breeding decisions. It hasn’t stopped her from placing first in her first two shows, either.  UPDATE – Lindy placed second of five fawn yearling females at MAPACA!

Both of Empressa’s cria to date have had excellent bites and conformation. They are also some of the most personable animals on the farm.

Orbit’s Isilmë

Price: $8,500

Breeding Information:
Service Sire: WRSR Peruvian Payday, ARI 30029380, white
Due date: 6/16/2010

Show Record:
3rd place, Full Fleece 3-11″ White Female Yearling Suri, 2009 North American Alpaca Show (class of 3)

Fiber Stats: 5/29/2009 Mean 22.94, SD: 6.59, CV: 28.7

Isilmë placed third in her yearling class at North American, where she won praise for her size, strength and good regrowth. Now that she has experienced the show ring, she is ready to move on to motherhood, and has been bred to our 3/4 Accoyo herdsire, WRSR Peruvian Payday. She took on her first breeding and has been confirmed pregnant by ultrasound for a mid-June, 2010 cria.

Isilmë (“moonlight” in Tolkien’s elven language Quenya) has been a big, healthy girl since day one. She weighed 22 pounds at birth with an IgG of over 3000, and at a year old tipped the scales at over 130 pounds. She is a strong, rangy girl with good conformation, and we are pleased with how she has matured. She is easy to handle even now that she is pregnant, with a curious and calm demeanor. She is also a favorite with this year’s cria, which we hope will translate into good mothering skills as is typical for her line.

Isilmë is pure white with pink skin, with very nice luster, good coverage and independent, drapey locks. She has a beard and typey suri head. Her regrowth is excellent. She needs some density, but a careful breeding should add this to her crias.

Although Isilmë is a white, she is out of two fawn parents, and we believe that she carries fawn genetics that have been diluted. There is also the possibility of hidden brown genetics from her sire, Orbit the Full Moon. Given her pedigree, which includes Damasco King Kong and Peruvian Aureo, and her dam’s production record, she should be a solid producer of quality cria. She doesn’t fit our breeding plans well – could she fit yours? Isilmë sells with a free rebreed to any of Bag End’s herdsires, which can be transferred to any of your dams.
