Welcome BESAME Kemen!

By jilladmin • May 28th, 2010

BESAME Kemen (“earth” in Quenya, Tolkien’s Elvish language) made his appearance at 7:40 this morning, right before a full day of shearing was planned.  We had to help a little bit with an elbow lock, but otherwise the birth was quick and uncomplicated.  Mama Jade is an angel with her babies – stands still like a statue and moves her back leg out of the way.  She’s also making enough milk for two!  A very determined Kemen found the milk bar by 9:30.

Kemen is a medium brown with black points, by the incredible sire Sierra Bonita’s Sirius Black.  He weighed in at 18.9 pounds and has been up and running around checking out his world since early this morning.
